More convention cancellations in Orange County as COVID-19 cases surge

After phasing out its status as Central Florida’s biggest pandemic response site from testing to vaccinations the Orange County Convention Center has been back to its usual business since early this summer.

That means hosting some of the biggest expos and tradeshows in the country.

“Our coronavirus cases are continuing to rise,” Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said.

Once the delta variant started pushing case numbers up, though, one of those shows, a big surgical conference which would’ve happened this weekend was canceled.
