The United States last month extended its pandemic restrictions on nonessential travel at the U.S.-Canada land border for at least a month. The announcement came shortly after Canada shared plans to reopen the border to fully vaccinated Americans in August.
Here’s what the current restrictions mean for travel between the U.S. and Canada. Traveling from the U.S. to Canada.
Beginning Aug. 9, fully vaccinated citizens and permanent residents of the United States who currently live in the U.S. will be permitted to enter Canada for nonessential travel. Entry to Canada will continue to be prohibited for U.S. travelers who are not fully vaccinated.
